MedHost releases OpCenter decision support software

MedHost has released OpCenter, a decision support software package that provides executives with real-time information about a hospital’s operations.

Leveraged by Microsoft's Silverlight browser plug-in, OpCenter pulls data from MedHost’s Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) and integrates with other hospital systems, giving executives access to information such as incoming admissions, patient acuity and hospital bed saturation levels, the company said.

According to the Addison, Texas-based MedHost, OpCenter features include:
  • Automatic Mobile Alerts: Notifications when thresholds are exceeded to the appropriate clinicians;
  • Bed Ahead: Manage the admission process by giving inpatient caregivers advance notice of pending and possible admissions; and
  • House Census: At-a-glance status of hospital bed availability, pending discharges and departmental saturation.
