Nuance expands medical transcription services

Nuance Communications has expanded its transcription portfolio with Nuance Transcription Services, an outsourced transcription service to assist clinical documentation and patient care initiatives.

Nuance Transcription Services combines the company’s proprietary eScription speech recognition platform with its medical transcription and editing services team, drawing from two recently acquired medical transcription companies: Outsourcing Solutions and Encompass Medical Transcription, according to Nuance, based in Burlington, Mass.

The transcription workflow management and speech recognition components of Nuance Transcription Services are housed within hosted data centers. Nuance Transcription Services also accesses a managed network of medical transcription partner resources when appropriate for a given customer, Nuance added.
