Positron appoints new medical director

Positron’s board of directors has appointed Michael E. Merhige, MD, as their medical director.

Merhige will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and has designated his practice as a signature show site for Positron software developers and customers, according to the Houston-based company. He is currently director of the Heart Center of Niagara in Niagara Falls, N.Y., which specializes in the noninvasive management of coronary disease guided by PET myocardial perfusion imaging.
