R2 taps Pavlidis

Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer R2 Technology Inc. has appointed John Pavlidis as president and CEO. Pavlidis brings over 15 years of technical and executive management experience in the medical industry and replaces William Mercer, director, who has served as interim president and CEO since June 2004.

Prior to joining R2, Pavlidis served as president of the worldwide Ultrasound Division of Siemens Medical Solutions. Before being named president of the ultrasound division in January 2000, Pavlidis held positions within Siemens in both the U.S. and Germany beginning in 1990. This included business and technical responsibilities in MRI, CT, and most recently ultrasound.
