SCAR 06: The Lone Star Line-up
The annual meeting of The Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) heads to the Lone Star State this year from April 27-30, with the round up slated for Austin. The conference includes a scientific program, timely and topical special sessions, and the entire course load of SCAR University to keep up-to-date in the latest industry developments. For those attendees hoping to get a peak at the latest and greatest technology and products on the market what follows is a summary of what an assortment of vendors will be showcasing in SCAR’s exhibit hall.
3mensio Medical Imaging (Booth #547) is highlighting at SCAR 2006 its 3viseon SD1710 stereoscopic application, an extension to the 3viseon product line. The 3viseon product line consists of software products being used on standard PCs to visualize 3D images based on volumetric datasets derived from CT and MR. The 3viseon SD1710 stereoscopic application has been designed for both viewing and advanced 3D manipulations of medical images and can be used both inside and outside the radiology department.
Acuo Technologies (Booth #542) is showcasing its Version 4.3 next-generation archive. Version 4.3 adds enhanced and expanded capabilities and functionality to Acuo’s portfolio of server-side PACS components for integration into both new and legacy diagnostic image management systems.
AFC Industries Inc. (Booth #509) is featuring the Ergo Tier Deluxe, a next-generation, single-tier table with a tilting work surface and electronically adjustable mon-itor arms. The work surface and display heights adjust to the desired level at the touch of a button, while the work surface tilts to the user’s preference. The monitor’s forward, backward and tilt positions also can be fine-tuned to meet the user’s exact needs via electronic adjustment.
The ErgoTier Deluxe comes with a full range of features including cable management to keep wires neat and unobtrusive; dimmer-controlled task lighting that illuminates the user’s work to the desired intensity; and adjustable phone and dictation equipment supports.
Agfa HealthCare (Booth #115) is highlighting its IMPAX Enterprise for radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, and women’s care in one single integrated RIS/PACS/Reporting workflow. The IMPAX Enterprise system encompasses the building blocks for an EHR and includes the most advanced version of Agfa’s enterprise PACS solution, IMPAX 6.0.
IMPAX 6.0 is a robust, web-deployable application for imaging-based planning, interpretation and results distribution. Integrated with IMPAX RIS, IMPAX 6.0 enables healthcare facilities to optimize clinical and IT efficiencies, using a single workflow-based system to service users inside and outside the walls of a facility, providing consolidated management of patient image and information data.
Agfa also will discuss its IMPAX OnLine program designed to eliminate the need for capital expenditures. With this program, all required storage hardware and continuously available servers are included, optimizing the configuration and maximizing uptime. Also included is a software site license.
Finally, Agfa is demonstrating the DX-S, a CR system that has created a new threshold in CR.
At the heart of the DX-S are two new technologies unique to Agfa: DirectriX needle-based detector technology and Scanhead line-to-line CR simulation and light collection technology.
AMICAS Inc. (Booth #731) is showcasing an enhanced web-based integration toolkit designed to provide seamless connectivity and integration to third-party applications to all users of Vision Series PACS. Radiologists will be able to combine the imaging and workflow management tools provided by the Vision Series PACS with instant, integrated access to complementary applications without having to re-enter information such as user ID, patient name, or study information. The toolkit is already in use by several strategic partners such as Dictaphone, Hyland Software and PeerVue.
Amicas also is featuring its new Vision Reach software system, a module of its Vision Series PACS and designed as a tool for referring physicians. Vision Reach is a ‘zero install client free web-based application which uses the latest web-based technologies to integrate with radiology report and key images to creates a single “multi-media” report. Included within Vision Reach is a sophisticated instant messaging system that uses common e-mail and secure messaging to deliver images, reports and information to any e-mail enabled device.
Anthro Corporation (Booth #524) is showing off furniture for radiology and medical applications, including Carl’s Table and the new Elevate Wrap, radiology workstations that adapt to the way radiologists work.
aycan (Booth #624) is demonstrating the aycan xray-print which combines the company’s software with certified Xerox Workgroup laser printers. The aycan xray-print prints medical images on plain paper at near film quality and prints images for less than 10 cents each; allows users to quickly share very high quality images; can reduce film costs by up to 90 percent; and improve communications with referral physicians and patients, the company says.
Barco (Booth #807) is highlighting the next generation of its CORONIS display system that integrates the latest advancements in grayscale imaging technology. The display includes the company’s proprietary Uniform Luminance Technology.
The CORONIS COLOR 3MP Diagnostic Luminance also will be showcased. The product offers color benefits without compromising on grayscale quality.
Other products on display include NIO FUSION 4MP for viewing multiple PACS images at the same time or for working with large CT data sets throughout the hospital.
Barco also is demonstrating VOXAR 3D ENTERPRISE, an enhancement to its widely-used VOXAR 3D software designed to provide rapid enterprise-wide access to 3D. VOXAR 3D ENTERPRISE dramatically accelerates the speed at which users can load, review, report and communicate patient cases with clinical colleagues.
Finally, Barco is presenting CARDIAMETRIX, an integrated suite of cardiac analysis applications which provides radiologists and cardiologists with tools for structural and functional analysis of contrast-enhanced CT Angiography (CTA) studies.
BRIT Systems (Booth #345) is featuring its Roentgen RIS, a web-based transcription product for radiology reports. This module provides the tools for radiologists to record a report, store the recording in the database, pull the recording to a transcriptionist’s workstation where it can be transcribed and place it back in the server for the radiologist’s sign-off.
BRIT is introducing a discordance tool for ER doctors to communicate to radiologists what reading they’ve made, for the radiologists to mark any discordance, and communicate this back to the ER area.
Additionally, BRIT is previewing a works-in-progress mammography module for The Radiology Workbench for Linux.
Canon Medical Systems (Booth #309) is showing its full line of digital radiography (DR) products, including:
- Portable DR — Both portable systems — the Canon CXDI-31 and full size CXDI-506 — bring affordable DR technology to more applications than ever before, including trauma, orthopedic, ICU and bedside imaging;
- General DR Solutions — The Canon CXDI-40EG General DR system can capture 17” x 17” x-ray images from almost any position or angle;
- Canon DR Image Viewer Software — This fully-scalable tool provides the user with pixel-to-pixel display of individual or multiple high-resolution images and the ability to send those DR images directly to any industry standard PACS; and
- The Canon Mobile Access Station System is designed to help improve workflow of patient data transfer on portable digital x-ray units.
Cerner Corporation (Booth #525) is highlighting PACS enhancements that include visualization tools to manage the ever-increasing amount of data generated by modalities, as well as mammography-specific features to aid in diagnosis. MultiMedia Foundation (MMF) provides the framework for integrating digital images and objects to create a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR). With access to data like ECG waveforms, fetal monitor strips, photographs and video images within the EHR, MultiMedia Foundation enhances both diagnosis and treatment.
Codonics (Booth #400) plans to intro-duce new long film capabilities in their newest Horizon XL Multi-media Dry Imager, a works-in-progress. The company developed the imager because the devices have never been able to print digitally stitched images from CR/DR on one continuous film. Now the Horizon XL Multi-media Imager can provide specialized orthopaedics with film ideal for long bone and scoliosis studies in one device.
The company also will show the work-in-progress Codonics Virtua Medical Disc Publisher, a CD/DVD publishing system which can work in tandem with the Horizon Multi-media Dry Imager product line.
DatCard Systems (Booth #506) is showcasing its network-connected devices that record images and reports with a DICOM viewer on to CD-R/DVD-R. Specifically, MammoSmart provides patients with their complete mammography history and breast care information onto a CD-R/DVD-R. Each disc also contains educational patient information, personal demographics and insurance information.
Dictaphone Corp. (Booth #639) is unveiling its next generation plug-and-play, USB speech recognition microphone for radiology. Available in both scanner and non-scanner models, the new microphone includes a pointing device, mouse functionality, redesigned ergonomic button layout and additional functionality to enable easy, on-screen navigation while dictating reports.
The company also is demonstrating the Interventional Radiology Language Model added to its April release of PowerScribe Workstation 4.7.
DR Systems (Booth #601) is exhibiting its unified RIS/PACS platform, including enhanced Digital Mammography integration, enhanced RIS features, and new paradigms in medical image management. Other new features of the RIS/PACS platform include:
- Full integration of mammography PACS capa-bilities, including an interface to computer-
- assisted detection (CAD) systems;
- New WebLaunch, for easy single sign-on integra-tion capability with other HIS or EMR systems;
- Extended scalability with the capacity for at least one million immediate online records; and
- Enhanced patient management tools for RIS;
Dynamic Imaging (Booth #707) is bringing the IntegradWeb PACS next release with enhanced and bidirectional desktop integration to GE Healthcare’s IDX Imagecast. IntegradWeb PACS’ integration is a RIS-driven workflow via true implementation of IDX’s integration toolkit. Integration includes single–sign on capability for Imagecast users to launch the IntegradWeb PACS Viewer from Imagecast’s Interpretation Worklist and sophisticated launching of Imagecast’s Order Entry screen from within the IntegradWeb PACS Study List.
IntegradWeb PACS’ enhanced real-time integration also enables bi-directional HL-7 messaging from the PACS to the RIS to include study arrival messages, split/merge acknowledgements, the number of images, and more.
Dynamic Imaging is also demonstrating the continued development of IntegradWeb RIS/PACS.
Eizo Nanao Technologies (Booth #245) is unveiling its new RadiForce 3 megapixel (MP) monochrome LCD monitor at SCAR. The GS310 has been designed for use with PACS, chest radiology, CT and MRI.
Some of the new product innovations include Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE), which enables compensation for luminance non-uniformity. The luminance level of each monitor is measured by the manufacturer, and then DUE adjusts the luminance according to the measured data. This process unifies luminance discrepancies in the display and between monitors in a multi-panel environment.
The GS310 also comes with a CAL Switch function, where calibration modes can be selected for any specific image, such as CR and CT, from the front panel buttons.
Emageon (Booth #201) is introducing RadSuite, a suite of integrated, enterprise productivity tools, offering:
- Enterprise Body Transparency — leverages the OpenGL graphics standard to provide native rendering of 3D volumes using high-quality, real-time ray-tracing;
- Integrated 2D/3D;
- Technologist QC workflow and web admin;
- PowerScribe integration;
- Personal Content Manager with JPEG2000 — fast access from home, office or hospital;
- StudyNotes; and
- Customer Success Program
EMC Corporation (Booth #544) is demonstrating its infrastructure that supports clinical and business applications while protecting, managing, sharing, and archiving increasing amounts of healthcare information and diagnostic images. EMC supports storage requirements for both short-term ‘live’ images and long-term archived images.
Emdeon (Booth # 813) is featuring its Practice Services that offers EHR with task management, imaging, and point-of-care documentation; scheduling; billing; electronic data interchange (EDI); business intelligence; radiology workflow; and web-
based PACS (powered by Dynamic Imaging’s IntegradWeb).
Fujifilm Medical Systems USA Inc. (Booth #606) is highlighting its offer-ings including its Fuji Computed Radiography (FCR) with cassette-based and cassetteless systems for every imaging environment. Also at the show will be Synapse PACS.
GE Healthcare (Booth #431) is launching its new Centricity RIS/PACS product. The system allows radiologists and other care providers to manage workflow and leverage a single radiology information system across geographically dispersed locations through advanced features.
GE also is showcasing its Centricity Radiology Business Intelligence Portal, a tool that enables real-time monitoring of the entire department for efficiency.
Centricity AW Suite (Advantage Workstation) software combined with the Centricity PACS also is being highlighted. Centricity AW Suite completely digitizes the diagnostic process and provides capabilities to manage large complex sets of patient data. Through advanced visualization and analysis tools, clinicians can now manage increasingly sophisticated imaging data available from today’s diagnostic imaging modalities, to speed diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, radiologists no longer have to move between workstations to view and manipulate interactive volumetric data sets.
Imaging Dynamics (IDC) (Booth #600) is showcasing its IDC Xplorer technology that provides high quality, affordable DR systems. The Xplorer 2200 and Xplorer 1590 are IDC’s newest comprehensive solutions that provide high-resolution image capture, with lower dose, in less than 6 seconds.
Intelerad (Booth #422) is debuting its INTELEPACS Statistics Module to provide customers with greater PACS Admin functionality and control, with a new set of real-time web-accessible PACS administrative, statistical and auditing tools. These new tools will provide PACS administrators the ability to efficiently manage their users, monitor their PACS remotely, and optimize their PACS network and performance.
New features to INTELEVIEWER Enterprise include enhanced MPR functionality, including oblique and double oblique reformats.
Also new at SCAR is INTELEPACS Reporting Worklist which enables PACS Admin-istrators to assign cases to individual radiologists.
Intelerad also is discussing the approaching launch of INTELEVIEWER Workstation as a standalone product, due for release in mid-2006. Intended for hospitals and imaging centers, the workstation edition features full DICOM support, including DICOM Query/Retrieve, Store, Print supporting Presentation State Key Images, and runs on a standard PC workstation running Windows OS.
Konica Minolta (Booth #339) is showcasing its REGIUS PureView Mammography System. The system combines Phase Contrast Mammography (PCM) technology and CR to deliver mammography images at the same resolution as the film screen images. The system is not yet FDA approved for use in the U.S.
Another system to be highlighted is the REGIUS 370 Computed Radiology System, an upright CR system that utilizes a new plate technology that is designed to dramatically increase DQE (a measurement of image quality) of the phosphor-based detector.
The company also is showing its Version 2.0 Software for its Xpress CR line which includes several upgrades such as user customizable notes and observations as free floating text to CR images, among other features.
McKesson (Booth #123) is demonstrating its Horizon Radiology integrated RIS/PACS and introducing two new features to further enhance PACS reporting workflow.
The first, Auto Inclusion Fields, makes it easier for users to create radiology reports. Users can create templates that automatically pull study- and patient-related information from the PACS database. Users can also create smart macros to quickly enter predefined, commonly used sentences or paragraphs that contain some of the same information into a report. By eliminating redundant manual data entry, these “auto inclusion fields” enable users to create more detailed reports much more efficiently.
The second feature, ER Wet Read Discrepancy Workflow, a wet read discrepancy tracking reporting tool provides a comprehensive means for communication and concurrence of diagnoses between the ER and the radiology department. The tool also automatically tracks the interpretations and related actions.
Merge eMed (Booth #745) is showcasing its new 64-bit processing capable FUSION Matrix PACS. The workstation has been ported to a 64-bit environment, and enables radiologists to easily load and manipulate studies regardless of size as well as do comparison with as many priors as needed (the company says it has loaded as many as 10,000 studies simultaneously).
In addition, Merge eMed is showing its latest versions of its FUSION RIS and FUSION RIS/PACS MX.
NEC Display Solutions of America (Booth #551) is showcasing its Professional series LCD displays. The new NEC Professional series contains over 20 new features, and includes the new NEC MultiSync Professional series — the 19-inch LCD1990SXi, the 20-inch LCD2090UXi and the 21-inch LCD2190UXi. By utilizing a high-end IPS panel and developing features such a 12-bit Look Up Table for crisp, clear images; selectable gamma settings including a DICOM GSDF curve for grayscale image viewing; and ColorComp for unparalleled grayscale and color uniformity, the new display family are designed specifically for the needs of radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
Network Appliance Inc. (Booth #538) is demonstrating how solutions such as the NearStore R200 and the FAS3000 provide on-demand storage that enables customers to comply with government regulations such as the HIPAA.
Neurostar Solutions (Booth #417) is launching its Virtual Radiology Community Website, providing a platform for sharing imaging services, resources and information for users of its Virtual Radiology Network (VRN) image management system. Supporting this is the debut of VRN version 2.0 with a host of new features complementing the website.
The company also is showcasing new features of VRN v. 2.0 such as Universal Workflow Management combining images from multiple facilities into a single, unified worklist as well as user-based routing rules. A Study Life Cycle Management engine enhances facilitates prioritization and workload balancing, while a new Control Dashboard provides a host of tools for administrators. The release also offers a Downloadable Diagnostic Viewer for both on- and off-site image review.
NovaRad Corporation (Booth #510) is introducing NovaRIS, a web-based, open standards RIS that generates reports, analyzes exams, measures profitability and fa-cil-itates paperless management of patient records. NovaRIS is able to track exact reimbursement costs, insurance company payments, and income from procedures, as well as individual radiology tech productivity.
ODS Medical (Booth #916) will display its V2.4 feature/function release and product redesign for PACScomm, a CD/DVD image recording system and complete mini-PACS archive with 400GB of storage and optional RAID drives. The system is fully integrated and provides a single, space-optimizing footprint, enabling the unit to be adaptable for multiple surface options, including tables or shelving.
Philips Medical Solutions (Booth #623) is showcasing Philips iSite PACS (acquired when Philips purchased Stentor Inc). The following iSite systems will be shown: iSite Enterprise; iSite Enterprise integrated with Xtenity Enterprise; iSite Radiology integrated with Xtenity RIS; and third-party integrations via the iSite Platform API.
Philips also is showcasing its Xtenity RIS, powered by Epic. This is the first specialty module from Philips Xtenity Enterprise portfolio. Xtenity RIS manages images and data for radiology departments, is an enterprise-ready radiology information system and is being demonstrated seamlessly connected with Philips iSite PACS and SpeechMagic.
Planar (Booth #109) is showcasing its Dome EX family of color and grayscale displays at SCAR, including the FDA 510(k) cleared Dome E4c color display. In addition, Planar is featuring the Dome E2c, 2 MP high-bright color dispay, Dome E3c, 3 MP fan-less color display, and the Dome E2, E3 and E5 grayscale displays.
Quest International (Booth #912) is showcasing its new offering of NEC’s latest 19-inch MultiSynch displays, the first in its flagship 90 Series. The LCD1990SXi includes a large number of new features such as a 12-bit lookup table, auto image pivot, and digital CableComp, which compensates for low pass filtering and individual RGB delays.
R2 Technology Inc. (Booth #403) is showcasing its ImageChecker CT Lung (Version 2.0) CAD System and the system’s enterprise connectivity at SCAR 2006. R2’s ImageChecker CT Lung System is fully compatible with the industry’s DICOM connectivity standards. It accepts images from any CT scanner or PACS server and enables CAD results to be sent to PACS using standard formats. R2 also provides the CT Lung CAD option which integrates into the Vital Images Vitrea workstation’s Lung visualization package.
In addition, R2’s Pulmonary Artery Patency Exam (PE) Tool is offered as an option with the Version 2.0 system to help physicians more accurately and efficiently detect potential intravascular pulmonary artery filling defects — such as pulmonary emboli — during review of multislice CT exams.
RamSoft (Booth #233) is highlighting the launch of its web-based software suite. PowerServer+RIS is designed around RamSoft’s Power Series web-based architecture as a single system for all PACS related duties. Whether you are a small outpatient practice or a large hospital, PowerServer+RIS provides a unified solution for both image management and practice management.
RamSoft’s Practice Management Solution is the latest information system offering from RamSoft. This competitively priced solution is combined with the RamSoft PowerServer and facilitates a fully digital, paperless, environment. This combination of technologies will ensure your facility will increase productivity, lower costs and maintain the highest quality of patient care.
RADinfo Systems (Booth #118) is showcasing its entry-level PACS Micro PowerPACS. The compact system is vendor neutral and can integrate with any DICOM modality. It also supports DICOM modality worklist to register or retrieve patient information from a RIS/HIS.
Richardson Electronics (Booth #831) is displaying its Image System family of displays, highlighting the dual-link, 3 MP grayscale and color displays. The 3MP monochrome and color displays will be utilizing commercially available PCI express controller cards. The Image-3MP dual-link display technology allows for fast scrolling and cine loop speeds of over 90 frames per second. Rounding out the Image System line is a 5 MP grayscale display. All displays utilize Image Systems CFS (Calibration Feedback System) which allows for an entire network to have ‘hands free’ calibration. This closed loop, proactive calibration system can notify users via email, page, text message, or map should any display need attention.
Richardson also is featuring products from premier partners NEC Display, Planar Systems, Siemens Displays, Sharp, Matrox and nVidia.
RIS Concepts Inc. (Booth #141) is bringing to SCAR its new complete web-based RIS, a scalable, affordable system for small single to multi-facility organizations. The application is entirely browser-based and features real-time scheduling, workflow, dictation, transcription, patient demographics, scanning, & PACS/billing interface. Referral physicians also can request scheduling and obtain radiology reports/documents automatically via the web. A cardiology module is also available.
Additionally, the company’s new Print To PACS works with any digital document or application that has the ability to print to a windows printer. It works as a virtual windows printer and converts your documents into a DICOM image.
Riverain Medical (Booth #103) is demonstrating its RapidScreen chest x-ray CAD system for the detection of early-stage lung cancer. RapidScreen is a cancer detection tool designed to quickly identify solitary pulmonary nodules between 9 and 30 mm and other suspicious nodules on the original standard AP/PA chest x-ray providing a virtual second pair of eyes for the radiologist.
Sectra (Booth #843) is highlighting its latest offering for Sectra PACS users with a demonstration of an interactive remote monitoring application which is now available in the U.S. The company also is introducing a differentiated service and support structure where customers select the level of involvement they prefer.
This company also is showcasing a new workstation concept for presentation and management of very large data sets, as well as its Breast Imaging PACS and the latest improvements for full digital reading of mammograms.
SENCOR (Booth #522) is highlighting its DICOM archiving and distribution technologies at SCAR, including the scalable DICOM archive product and archiving service built on SENCOR's content addressable storage (CAS) engine. Additionally, the disaster recovery product and service gives healthcare organizations the ability to cost-effectively store one or more offline copies of their data on HIPAA-compliant storage media.
Also displayed at the conference will be other products such as SENCOR’s Image Routing capability which uses DICOM router software allowing facilities to securely transfer images within networks or across the internet with simple rules created to allow automatic, encrypted communications; the Java-based web viewer provides automatic access for physicians to view and report information; mobile imaging is built to solves the problem facing most route vehicles, which is how to easily transfer data from the coach to each healthcare facility; and the company’s CD/DVD Creation Service that — through an internet connection — is able to create CDs and DVDs with DICOM standards, including multiple viewers and labels.
Siemens Display Technologies (Booth #323) is displaying its new 1 MP and 2 MP flat-panel monitors. The SCD 19100 (19” diagonal) 1 MP color display and the SHD 21205 (21” diagonal) 2 MP color display feature the latest viewing angle technology and CCFL backlighting (cold cathode fluorescent lamp). The 2 MP display, with high luminance up to 450 cd/m2, has an especially long service life: for example 50,000 hours in 200-cd/m2 mode.
The displays include In-plane switching (IPS) technology that provides a wide viewing angle for every grayscale and fast image change between grayscales.
Siemens Medical Solutions (Booth #215) is highlighting its syngo Suite that offers a fully integrated workflow environment. Working across all modalities and offering advanced RIS, PACS, and post-processing in a comprehensive package for all imaging needs in radiology and cardiology, the syngo Suite includes:
- syngo Imaging — Siemens Radiology PACS features specialized workplaces including the Smart Select tool that allows the radiologist to perform a multitude of viewing and post-processing in one place;
- syngo Workflow — drives the complete radiological workflow from order entry to image and report distribution; and
- syngo Dynamics — a multi-modality, dynamic image review, diagnosis and archiving system that enables evidence-based reporting to help improve the efficiency of clinical procedures for cardiology, general imaging and OB/GYN.
Sorna Corporation (Booth #717) is highlighting the expansion of its family of FilmX networked DICOM CD/DVD recording systems with its introduction of eXpedo Lite. eXpedo Lite is a lower priced DICOM recording space-saving system that is being offered in two configurations — a single 50-disc capacity and a dual 100-disc capacity automated robotic system.
TeraRecon (Booth #617) is featuring its Aquarius Workstation 3.5 cardiac workflow enhancements that include CT cardiac soft plaque analysis, stenosis calculations, and coronary reporting updates. For vessel analysis, new volume measurements and profile graphs are included.
The AquariusNET Server 1.7 offers several new and improved 3D tools including automatic bone removal, vessel analysis using CPR with automatic stenosis calculations, perspective rendering for fly through applications, and modality fusion for any two modalities using manual overlay.
TDK (Booth #923) is showing its DICOM Media Creator, the DMC-2000 as well as the company’s full line of medical-grade, archive-quality recording media. All TDK medical grade DVD media features TDK’s exclusive DURABIS hard coating technology that offers 100 times greater scratch resistance than standard DVD media, the company says.
At SCAR 2006, U.S. Electronics Inc. (Booth #545) is highlighting its high-bright ultra-stable Totoku LCDs with Sentinel II front sensor technology built to meet the demands of today’s rapidly evolving multi-modality PACS environment. Vital Images Inc. (Booth #209) is showcasing its Vitrea, the company’s flagship software, including a richer integration with PACS. One component being highlighted will be leveraging relationships that Vital Images has with PACS providers, through which physicians are able to perform advanced visualization and analysis directly on their reading workstation.
In addition, with the Vitrea-to-Vitrea (V2V) feature, users are able to transfer data from one Vitrea to another and even to the PACS while maintaining the continuity of workflow. The floating license option enables physicians to “float a license” between multiple workstations. Through this feature, physicians can access and restore advanced visualization where ever they have installed the Vitrea application.
Also on display is ViTALConnect, the company’s web-based visualization and distribution system that can review datasets from CT, MR and PET scanners, as well as a variety of other medical imaging modalities.
