Susan G. Komen for the Cure names prez, exec VP
Breast cancer organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure has appointed Elizabeth Thompson as president and Katrina McGhee as executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
According to Nancy G. Brinker, founder and CEO of the organization and the board of directors, Thompson joined Komen as the managing director of public and medical affairs in 2008 and currently serves on various external boards, review panels and committees as the voice of the organization.
Previously, McGhee served as Komen’s senior vice president of global business development and partnerships after joining the organization in 2006 as director of cause marketing. Her new responsibilities will include global marketing, communications, events and multicultural marketing.
The organization also reported that Mike Williams, interim president since November 2009, will remain as an operating head of the Washington, D.C. office and advisor focused on organizational development and management.
