Vital Images posts loss in 2010 Q1

Advanced visualization software provider Vital Images posted a net loss of $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2010, ending March 31.

According to the company, the first quarter net loss included a $692,000 equity-based compensation charge relating to the tender offer for certain employee stock options that closed in the first quarter. The company posted a $251,000 net loss in the first quarter of 2009.

First quarter revenue of $14.8 million remained steady compared to 2009. Operating expenses of $12.2 million remained steady as well.
