Here’s a sampling of conferences, educational sessions and fellowships offering hands-on and CME education through the remainder of the year. They are listed in order by date. Cardiac CT Fellowship Program
This 3 to 5 day program is designed to provide physicians with ACC level 2 knowledge of Cardiac CT interpretation through a unique program of intense one-on-one mentored interpretation of Cardiac CT studies. The Fellowship includes 10 hours per day of dedicated hands-on time with Siemens and TeraRecon workstations to include six hours per day of one-on-one mentored Cardiac CT Angiographic interpretation with Dr. Michael Ridner of up to 75 cases. Physicians will also observe 30 real-time Coronary CT Angiographic studies with subsequent mentored interpretation. Training is available for Physicians (maximum 3 per group) as well as CT Technologists (maximum 2 technologists per group) and Nursing Staff (maximum 2 nurses per group).
Faculty: Dr. Michael Ridner is Medical Director of Cardiac CT Angiography and Invasive Cardiac Catheterization at The Heart Center. He is clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine in Huntsville. Dr. Ridner completed fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease at Barnes Hospital at Washington University in St.

Clinical Cardiac CT Imaging

2nd Annual Cardiothoracic CT Summit: Focus on CT Angiography and Extra Cardiac Disease
Dates: October 27-29, 2006
This symposium will provide a comprehensive review of Multi Detector CT technology for the diagnosis of cardiovascular, thoracic and peripheral vascular disease. There will be an emphasis on the rapidly growing field of coronary CT angiography and the non-coronary findings that are frequently observed during the course of interpretation.
The course will provide a comprehensive review from basics to advanced instrumentation, protocols and clinical applications. It will provide attendees the opportunity to participate in small group case-based interactive workshops using workstations. This CME activity should benefit cardiologists, radiologists, thoracic surgeons and pulmonologists performing, interpreting or ordering cardiovascular and thoracic CT studies.

This one day mini-tutorial at the Wisconsin Heart Hospital includes a formal teaching conference, case review, workstation experience and supervision of live CTAs. There is no charge but there is a maximum of three physicians per session.
