That knee MRI could cost $200—or $3,900

Minnesota Community Measurement, a firm that collects and reports healthcare data, conducted a survey of 1.5 million insurance claims that found a large difference when it came to cost of clinical visits or procedures.

Depending on what provider you have from around the state, consumers can pay as little as $216 for a knee MRI, while others were billed $3,904. 

According to the president of Minnesota Community Measurement, this trend is due to higher deductibles and copays.
