Physician and Mayor of West New York found not guilty in MRI kickback scheme

Physician and mayor of West New York, Felix Roque, MD, was acquitted of the single charge of commercial bribery he faced in a kickback scheme involving an MRI lab in Hackensack.

Roque, 60, said that the defense had cost him $400,000 and he feels for other doctors who are faced with similar situations but don’t have the financial means to fight.

This was the second time Roque was acquitted of criminal charges. He was found not guilty of conspiracy and computer hacking charges, though his son who testified that his father had no involvement was convicted of the hacking charge.
