Say it, see it: Real-time MRI shows mouth movements during speech

MRI "videos" released by the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Germany show how the mouth and pharynx move during speech, according to an article published April 27 by Yahoo U.K. news.

The videos were made by institute researchers, led by Jens Frahm, director of the society's biomedical NMR research, according to the article.  

Frahm and his team use their procedure called "FLASH2" to create the videos, which uses mathematical algorithms to perform accelerated image reconstruction of MRI scans.
