Toshiba undergoes exec shakeup

Toshiba Medical Systems announced today Satoshi Tsunakawa will be appointed president and CEO of the company.

Tsunakawa, most recently senior vice president at Toshiba Medical, succeeds Kenichi Komatsu, PhD, who will become an advisor to the board of Toshiba Medical and an advisor to Toshiba Corporation.

Tsunakawa, who joined Toshiba Corporation in 1979, has held positions at Toshiba’s medical subsidiaries in Europe and the U.S. and was president of Toshiba America Medical Systems from 2004-2008. For the last year, Tsunakawa has led the global sales, planning and corporate communications functions.
