Mellanox adapters speed up Toshiba AquilionONE visualization

Mellanox Technologies reported that its InfiniBand adapters can accelerate visualization processing runtime on Toshiba Medical's AquilionONE volume-CT systems, according to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based firm.

The AquilionONE acquires large volumes of thin-slice, high-resolution data which can be rendered by advanced 3D volume and vessel visualization software to streamline image interpretation. InfiniBand adapters provide high bandwidth and low latency to keep overhead away from the processor, allowing more CPUs to be used for the visualization process, reducing the overall job runtime, according to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based Mellanox.
