Cerner president Zane Burke to leave in November

Cerner announced Monday, Sept. 10, that its president, Zane Burke, will leave the company. The move is effective Nov. 2, according to a news release.

“We thank Zane for his contributions to Cerner across more than two decades,” said Cerner Chairman and CEO Brent Shafer, in a prepared statement. “Zane leaves the company with a strong client focus and commitment to continued innovation, partnership and sustainable growth deeply engrained in our culture and leadership philosophy. I am very confident in the capabilities of Cerner’s strong and experienced leadership team.”

Burke joined the health technology company in 1996 where he took on a number of executive positions until he was named president in 2013.

John Peterzalek, executive vice president of worldwide client relationships will assume Burke’s day-to-day tasks and the title of chief client officer. The role is effective immediately.
