Fujifilm acquires TeraMedica
Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A. has announced the acquisition of TeraMedica, the healthcare informatics company and vendor neutral archive (VNA) provider based in Wauwatosa, Wis.
The company is now known as Fujifilm TeraMedica and will allow Fujifilm to market a leading VNA, according to the company.
“The VNA market is expected to see significant growth in the coming years, and now with the combined strength of Fujifilm Medical Systems, we have the ability to meet this demand,” said Jim Prekop, President and CEO, Fujifilm TeraMedica, Inc.
TeraMedica was founded in 2001 with startup investment from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. The company began marketing a VNA in the U.S. in 2003. Mayo clinic maintained partial ownership of TeraMedica and observer rights on the company’s board of directors.
TeraMedica received the “VNA/Image Archive KLAS Category Leader” award in the 2014 Best in KLAS Report.
