Fujifilm expands enterprise imaging agreement with DoD

Fujifilm Healthcare is expanding its collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), announcing the company will be providing enterprise PACS to the Navy Medical Center San Diego for the management of medical imaging data.

According to a statement, the medical center will adopt the Synapse 7x enterprise imaging system, which unites data from a variety of modalities on a single platform. The PACS will integrate with other server-side enterprise imaging applications being used by the DoD. The change will consolidate not only radiology images, but also mammography and cardiology.

Under the agreement, numerous facilities will be adopting Synapse 7x as their sole PACS imaging platform, including the Navy Medical Center San Diego, Camp Pendleton, 29 Palms, Lemoore, plus approximately 40 additional medical treatment facilities.

All organizations in the DoD currently have access to Synapse 7x, following a previous award granting Fujifilm authority to operate on the DoD network.
