Helse Sør-Øst (HSØ), Norway, Awards Eight-Year Contract For Carestream’s IT Solutions

GENEVA, Switzerland, May 13 ― Following an extensive and lengthy procurement process, Carestream has been awarded the contract to supply CARESTREAM Vue RIS and Vue PACS to Helse Sør-Øst (HSØ), www.helse-sorost.no, the largest of the four Regional Health Authorities in Norway.  The contract spans eight years and the first phase of installations will extend to five Trusts.

The HSØ group consists of 35 hospitals across eight Trusts in Norway. Helse Sør-Øst (HSØ) covers 56% of the Norwegian population across the regions of Akershus, Aust-Agder, Buskerud, Hedmark, Oppland, Oslo, Telemark, Vest-Agder, Vestfold and Østfold.

“This is one of the most prestigious and comprehensive contracts ever undertaken within Healthcare IT for Radiology in the Nordic region and is a great win for Carestream,” said

Lars Karlsson, Head of Carestream Health, Nordic and Baltic Region. “The tender process was lengthy and our solutions were put to the test throughout the negotiations, which included a visit to our reference site at the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, Israel, where our applications could be seen in operation within a clinical environment.”

Carestream’s Vue RIS delivers embedded voice recognition along with centralised patient scheduling and management reports that track patient referrals by physician and modality reading by each radiologist. Worklists can be tailored to meet workflow needs and reporting is streamlined with auto-insertion of patient and exam information, and integration with existing PACS.

Carestream’s Web-enabled Vue PACS delivers integrated advanced visualization, 3D post processing, dictation, critical results notification and a mammography module that eliminates the need for dedicated workstations.

A Communication and Information exchange solution, founded on existing integration components in RIS and PACS, will ensure a secure exchange of patient health information between the legal entitles in the region according to local legislation.
