NEC Display announces LED-backlit 3 megapixel MD212G3 diagnostic monitor

CHICAGO – November 20, 2014 – NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today launch of the MultiSync® MD212G3 LCD, a widescreen display for diagnostic review applications in healthcare organizations.

Featuring an IPS panel, the 3-megapixel, 21.3-inch display is designed for precise grayscale reproduction and wide viewing angles. The MD212G3 display also comes with 1,400:1 contrast ratio and a 1,700 cd/m² calibrated brightness.

“The emergence of the MD212G3 display means that the entire NEC MultiSync Medical Series portfolio is now LED backlit, significant for reducing hazardous materials,” said Art Marshall, Product Manager of Professional and Medical Displays at NEC Display Solutions. “The display also features an anti-reflective coding to improve working conditions for the professionals using the display.”

The MD212G3 monitor includes out-of-the-box calibration to the DICOM grayscale display function for luminance. An integrated front sensor keeps the luminance stable over time. And complimentary GammaCompMDTM QA software delivers worry-free calibration and conformance to the DICOM standard. The monitor’s stand has four-way ergonomic functionality, including height-adjust, swivel, tilt and pivot.

The MD212G3 includes a 16-bit lookup table, which provides 1,024 levels of gray out of a palette of 12,277 when using a 10-bit DisplayPort connection. The display meets the needs of healthcare facilities requiring consistent and accurate medical imaging using Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

The MD212G3 feature set also includes:

• Integrated two port USB 2.0 hub, DisplayPort and DVI-D inputs
• 150mm height adjustability in landscape orientation (103mm in portrait), as well as pivot, tilt and swivel
• Medical certifications, including UL60950-1 and UL60601-1 with FDA 510(k) clearance pending
• Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant
• Five-year limited warranty with Advanced Overnight Exchange

The MultiSync MD212G3 is available at an estimated street price of $4,699. The display ships with a five-year limited parts and labor warranty, including Advanced Overnight Exchange, which is one of the best warranties in the industry.

The display will be demonstrated from November 30 through December 4 at RSNA 2014 (NEC Display Booth No. 6538) in Chicago.
