Prominent hospitals in the Netherlands opt for Sectra

The medical imaging IT company, Sectra, (STO: SECT B), has signed ten-year contracts with two Dutch hospitals, Albert Schweitzer Hospital, Dordrecht, and Catharina Hospital, Eindhoven. With Sectra’s solution the hospitals’ radiology department will be able to improve productivity and patient care.

Most patients undergo a radiology examination at one point or another during their treatment. Increased efficiency in the handling of images and patient information contributes to better use of resources throughout the care chain and this is vital for delivering high-quality diagnosis and treatment. Sectra’s solution enhances the efficiency of each step of the care process, from when a physician refers a patient for a radiology examination to when radiology images and responses to referrals are returned.

“More and more hospitals in the Netherlands are choosing Sectra as their provider of IT solutions and our growing customer base now comprises 18 hospitals. Like the Albert Schweitzer Hospital and Catharina Hospital, many of our customers choose to extend the use of Sectra’s medical imaging IT solutions to also handle patient information (RIS),” says Marie Ekström, Head of Sectra’s radiology IT business.

The orders include upgrades of the customers’ existing systems for managing digital radiology images (PACS) as well as service and support. The hospitals will also implement Sectra’s system for efficient handling of patient information (RIS).
