SonoSite completes $69.5M acquisition of VisualSonics
Ultrasound technology provider SonoSite has acquired the high-frequency micro-ultrasound technology company VisualSonics, as of June 30 for $67.9 million in net cash and debt.
SonoSite announced its intention to buy the Toronto-based ultrasound systems developer for $71 million in late May with the intention of entering the preclinical market.
Under the terms of the contract, VisualSonics will now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of SonoSite and the agreement will enable the creation of new imaging products for both market spaces, said Bothell, Wash.-based SonoSite.
