Sorin aquires Gish Biomedical

The Sorin Group has acquired Gish Biomedical from Ventizz Capital Partners, a private equity group.

Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.-based Gish Biomedical manufactures and distributes disposable medical devices for cardiovascular surgery, according to Sorin, which include vascular access devices and oxygenation systems. Specifically, Michel Darnaud, president of Sorin's cardiopulmonary unit, said that the acqusition was partly due to Gish's extracorporeal circulation devices.

Milan-based Sorin said that the previously outlined market guidance will remain unchanged during the business deal.
