XIFIN acquires imaging informatics company VisualShare

SAN DIEGO--XIFIN, Inc., the healthcare cloud computing company revolutionizing the business of healthcare diagnostics from patient to payment, today announced the acquisition of VisualShare, a Salt Lake City-based medical informatics company specializing in diagnostic image management. VisualShare will expand XIFIN’s capabilities to deliver enhanced continuity of care documentation, and facilitate robust multidisciplinary team collaboration through its Health Economics Optimization platform. The acquisition, like XIFIN’s recently announced partnership with vRad, advances the company’s strategy to combine financial and clinical data with business intelligence and analytics to achieve improved patient outcomes at a lower cost.

“We have had a successful strategic relationship with VisualShare for a number of years, and have integrated their technology into XIFIN’s clinical products,” statedLâle White, CEO of XIFIN. “This acquisition will accelerate XIFIN’s future growth initiatives, and allow us to leverage clinical data in important new ways to support our mission of optimizing the delivery of healthcare.”

VisualShare provides a cloud-based medical imaging management solution and image collaboration platform that integrates imaging and text into a consolidated record for diagnostic service providers and clinicians to facilitate multidisciplinary care teams and improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning. The technology supports advanced diagnostic data, including whole-slide imaging, DICOM and non-DICOM images, video and next-gen sequencing.

VisualShare’s technology has been integrated into the XIFIN HEO cloud platform, expanding XIFIN LIS Anywhere and XIFIN ProNet, the company’s integrated diagnostic content management system that allows oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to collaborate using a consolidated diagnostic report. VisualShare enhances the HEO framework by vastly improving the ability to view, manage and annotate radiology and whole-slide pathology images digitally, and collaborate with healthcare providers over the Internet to support patient-centered, coordinated care and emerging value-based delivery models.
