From home-based startup to formidable medical-imaging player

A medical-imaging company that sells mostly refurbished equipment—along with parts and services—out of the small town of Holt, Mich., has gotten a nice writeup in an affiliate outlet of USA Today.

Block Imaging started small but now has a global reach that “is even more impressive considering [it] began as a home-based business when founder Bruce Block began brokering medical equipment in 1997,” the Lansing State Journal reports.

Company president Josh Block tells the newspaper that, fairly early on, spotting opportunities for online marketing opened up possibilities beyond brokering.

“We had to enhance our value, so we started getting into engineering, service contracts and parts,” Block says.
