ACS renews Medicaid contract with District of Columbia
The Department of Health, Medical Assistance Administration of the District of Columbia has awarded a seven-year, $111 million contract to Affiliated Computer Services (ACS).
Based on the renewed contract, ACS will continue operating the District's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). ACS has been the district's Medicaid fiscal agent since February 2001, and received Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) certification for the district's current MMIS system in 2004.
In addition to current contract responsibilities, the Dallas-based ACS said it will expand MMIS operations to include a web portal; a clinical case management system; a web-based reporting data mart; a surveillance and utilization review system; management and administration reporting system; and third-party liability with operations.
