Agfa completes phase one of Belgian hospital install
Agfa HealthCare has completed the first implementation phase of the Orbis hospital information system at the AZ Groeninge hospital in Kortrijk, Belgium.
The hospital provides services for the southwest region of Flanders, treating approximately 35,000 hospitalized patients and some 35,000 outpatients each year.
Agfa said the basic components of the system were implemented with primarily medical and partly nursing applications and will be used initially to record minimal nursing data. The system will be tailored to the Belgian context.
Over a three-year period, Agfa will gradually replace the information management systems currently in use in the hospital with Orbis, the company said.
