Agfa signs RIS/PACS deals with two major Dutch hospitals

Two Dutch healthcare facilities have awarded Agfa Healthcare a contract to install hospital-wide digital imaging systems worth an estimated $8 million.

 Medisch Centrum Alkmaar and  VieCuri Medical Centre Venlo/Venray in the Netherlands - which have 913 beds and 569 beds, respectively -- replaced their existing RIS with Agfa's RIS, which is integrated with Agfa's Impax PACS. Both facilities also installed the Agfa ADC computed radiography (CR) system.

 Agfa says the RIS/PACS agreements solidify the Mortsel, Belgium-based imaging company's presence in the European market place.
