Elkin, ImproMed complete integration of veterinary PACS, DR systems

Eklin Medical Systems and ImproMed have integrated Eklin’s RapidStart DR system and RapidPACS  web edition with ImproMed’s Infinity practice management information system at mutual customers’ veterinary care practices.

The integration was enabled through use of the open DICOM standard, which allows integration of products between digital technology vendors, according to the companies.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based Eklin and the Oshkosh, Wis.-based ImproMed adhere to DICOM open standards due to the need for veterinary care practices to integrate their digital imaging modalities and practice management software, according to Ron Detjen, president of ImproMed.
