Allscripts nets installation trifecta
Healthcare information technology developer Allscripts has signed three contracts for its electronic health record (EHR) and practice management products at facilities in the U.S.
The Chicago-based firm will be placing its technology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y.; Ochsner Health System in New Orleans; and Novant Health in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Albany Medical Center has selected Allscripts as its EHR provider to automate clinical tasks for 250 physicians in their medical faculty group, and connect them to the organization's hospitals. The facility incorporates the 631-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital; Albany Medical College; the Albany Medical Center Faculty Group Practice; and the Albany Medical Center Foundation.
Allscripts also will integrate the web-based EHR with a number of other information systems, providing physicians the capability to order and review results from pathology, radiology, PACS, cardiology, and gastrointestinal evaluations, and to access clinical notes on hospitalized patients, the firm said.
The Ochsner Health System has selected the company as its provider of an EHR and practice management system to help automate and connect clinical and administrative processes for their 600 physicians.
The systems will provide new functionality that will enhance the performance of Ochsner's existing electronic medical record (EMR), which will remain deployed system-wide, Allscripts said. Ochsner Health System employs more than 600 physicians in 80 medical specialties and subspecialties, and has seven hospitals including 473-bed Ochsner Medical Center.
Novant Health has selected the company's PM system to automate billing, scheduling and other back-office functions for its 794-member physician medical group across 232 locations in North Carolina and South Carolina. The agreement follows Novant's implementation of the Allscripts’ EHR.
Novant Health serves 3.4 million residents in 34 counties and is comprised of the Novant Medical Group and eight hospitals: Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital Matthews and Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville in the Charlotte region; Forsyth Medical Center and Medical Park Hospital in Winston-Salem; Thomasville Medical Center in Thomasville; and Brunswick Community Hospital in Supply, N.C.
