Barco taps AMD for graphics technology

Barco has selected ATI FirePro 3D Professional Graphics technology for inclusion in its MXRT Series display controller products for medical imaging applications.

ATI FirePro professional graphics incorporates AMD Eyefinity multi-display technology, which emphasizes visual quality for healthcare applications including radiology, clinical review imaging, surgery and mammography, according to Sunnyvale, Calif.-headquartered AMD Professional Graphics.

Building Barco MXRT displays controllers with the ATI FirePro 3D technology allows users to drive three displays with one graphics card, explained Kortrijk, Belgium-based Barco, which manufactures display systems.

ATI FirePro 3D Professional Graphics cards are available with the Barco MXRT-5400 and MXRT-7400 display controllers, said the companies.
