BridgeForward wins Capio contract

Healthcare application integration technology developer BridgeForward Software has been selected by Capio Healthcare UK to provide system-wide application integration throughout its healthcare facilities in the United Kingdom. The Middleton, Mass.-based BridgeForward will be supplying its ClearSpan Server interface engine and providing implementation services.

The new system allows Capio Healthcare UK to integrate its operations throughout the United Kingdom on a standalone basis. Previously, Capio Healthcare UK's applications were hosted in Sweden by its parent company, Capio Group.

According to BridgeForward, its ClearSpan Server was selected for system-wide use by the 49 hospital BMI Healthcare Group, the largest private hospital organization in the United Kingdom. More recently, ClearSpan Server was selected by Nuffield Hospitals to provide enterprise-wide application integration to all 40 of its hospitals.

The Capio, Nuffield, and BMI organizations total 124 independent hospitals and treatment centers, representing approximately 90 percent of the independent healthcare facilities in the United Kingdom, BridgeForward said.
