California funds eClinicalWorks EHR system for affiliated physicians

El Camino Hospital of Mountain View, Calif., has selected eClinicalWorks’ unified EMR and practice management (PM) software for its affiliate, the Independent Physicians of El Camino Hospital (IPEC. The software will interface the two hospitals.

Practices in the cooperative will also have access to eClinicalWorks Enterprise Business Optimizer for reporting capabilities and eClinicalWorks Electronic Health eXchange community health record to engage IPECH physicians and their patients, according to the Westborough, Mass.-based company.

“Using eClinicalWorks will also help the community collect data for pay-for-performance initiatives,” said Kent Madsen, executive director of IPECH.

eClinicalWorks said that IPECH members will implement eClinicalWorks unified EMR/PM system, using a Software-as-a-Service model so members are able to access the system via the internet.
