California hospital installs new ED system

West Anaheim Medical Center, an affiliate of Prime Healthcare Services (PHS), has installed Emergency Department Management (EDM), a patient tracking and integrated data system housed with the MediTech system.

The Anaheim, Calif.-based West Anaheim Medical Center is a 219-bed, acute care hospital, staffed by more than 700 registered nurses, technicians and support personnel.

PHS said the system allows the ED staff to manage patient flow from a single point of entry, allows a clinician to complete documentation, which is then incorporated into the patient’s EHR.
