Carestream nets CAD contracts
Carestream Health reported that it has recently signed contracts for its Kodak mammography computer-aided detection (CAD) system with multiple breast imaging facilities in the United States.
The CAD application utilizes algorithms to help identify suspicious areas on imaging exams so radiologists can closely examine these regions for possible disease during a second review, according to the Rochester, N.Y.-based firm.
The following facilities are among those that recently purchased the CAD software: The Breast Center of Lansing in Lansing, Mich., ordered a Kodak mammography CAD system to replace an existing CAD product; Laurel Diagnostics of Laurel, Md., purchased the CAD application for its diagnostic imaging center that provides mammography as well as general radiology exams, Carestream said.
Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, Texas, ordered a Kodak CAD system for its hospital-based imaging center, while Mountain Community Hospital of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., purchased the vendor’s CAD product for its diagnostic imaging center. Lastly, the company said the Dr. John Garvish of Plainview, Texas has replaced an existing CAD system with the Kodak CAD application at his freestanding general radiology imaging center.
