Children's Medical Center Dallas implements Cerner point-of-care system

Children's Medical Center Dallas has successfully implemented a point-of-care (POC) system that provides greater patient safety through bar-code verification of medications and data review. The facility worked with Cerner Corp. to develop the new system and served as the alpha testing site. The major element of the POC system is CareMobile technology, a hand-held device, was piloted on three units before rollout to other inpatient units in July. It allows for instant access to and seamless integration with electronic medical record information at the bedside.
