Coventry Health Care to use ProVentive for cardiovascular risk assessment
Coventry Health Care, a managed healthcare company, has selected ProVentive, an IT provider of quality improvement services for the healthcare industry, for its pilot project in identifying and managing cardiovascular risk.
The Bethesda, Md.-based Coventry will deploy ProVentive’s services to identify its health plan members who are most likely to develop adverse cardiovascular clinical conditions, and will use the application as a base from which to launch its heart failure pilot program, according to ProVentive.
The company said the voluntary heart failure program is focused on early identification of risk factors, daily symptom monitoring and medication reminders using a home-based device. In addition, the Boston-based ProVentive said the program will align member and physician incentives, promote healthier behavior through self monitoring by members and include personalized nurse education.
