Elekta donates stereotactic system to Ukraine
Elekta, a provider of technology for treating cancer and brain disorders, has donated its Leksell stereotactic system for minimally invasive brain surgery to the International Charitable Foundation Ukraine 3000.
The Atlanta-based company said that the donation was presented in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, founder of the World Childhood Foundation. The system will be used for treating brain disorders at a neurosurgery hospital in Ukraine.
The total value of the donated system, which also includes training at one of Elekta’s renowned European reference sites, is around €70,000 ($99,100 U.S.).
