Emageon inks with multi-site healthcare system

Emageon Inc. has been awarded a ten-year contact to provide enterprise healthcare information management to Sisters of St. Francis Health Services Inc., an integrated network of 12 hospitals, clinics and associated facilities located in Indiana and Illinois.

Additional terms of the digital healthcare information management agreement were not disclosed.

According to Bill Laker, CIO, the technology will allow the healthcare provider to manage medical images and associated content across all departments and create an enterprise diagnostic imaging repository, an advantage since St. Francis plans to eventually integrate medical imaging with their electronic health record strategy.
