Harris develops national U.S. vets patient registries

Harris has been awarded a contract to continue developing national patient registries for U.S. military veterans. The new contract, with a 12-month base period and two 12-month option periods, is a follow-on to the original contract awarded to Harris in October 2008.

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Registries Program allows healthcare providers to access patient information from connected databases of veteran-specific health conditions while tracking patient data.

Under the new contract, Harris will maintain and improve the existing registries' infrastructures and develop new registries based on other veteran-centric conditions, the Melbourne, Fla.-based company stated.
