Iasis to deploy McKesson Horizon Clinicals suite

McKesson and Iasis Healthcare have extended their strategic relationship as Iasis plans to implement McKesson Horizon Clinicals tools for physician documentation and computerized physician order entry (CPOE).

The McKesson Horizon Clinicals implementation will be deployed across all 16 Iasis hospitals during the next 12 months, according to McKesson, of San Francisco.

The CPOE system will enable Iasis physicians to enter patient orders electronically for nursing, pharmacy, laboratory and radiology departments. These orders will be automatically updated in the Franklin, Tenn.-based healthcare organization's EHR, McKesson stated.

Along with CPOE, Iasis is deploying McKesson documentation technology that will allow physicians to document care electronically, and is designed to work within the hospital’s existing workflow, according to McKesson.
