ICW to build master patient index for Blue Cross

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) in Missouri selected InterComponentWare (ICW) to implement an enterprise master patient index.

Blue KC said that a new MPI developed by the Walldorf, Germany-based health IT vendor will allow the insurer to meet demands for aggregated patient data in health information exchanges.
