IDS launches iPad image-viewing app
Cloud computing and health IT company Integrated Document Solutions (IDS) has begun offering a DICOM image viewing application for the iPad in the iTunes App Store.
The free AbbaDox Rad app allows referring physicians to view final studies on their iPads and includes window leveling, zoom, pan and annotations (with an active AbbaDox account). According to the Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based company, the app retains no confidential information on the mobile device itself.
IDS is marketing the app as an alternative to the installation and maintenance of a mini-PACS and VPN in physician offices.
