Ingenix to provide EDI services for Aetna

Ingenix, a health IT company, has signed two agreements with Aetna to provide electronic data interchange (EDI) services.

Ingenix and Aetna have entered a five-year agreement to launch EDI Connect, a free website that allows healthcare providers and other bill submitters to directly transmit batch and transactions to Aetna without the need for clearinghouses or third-party intermediaries, according to the Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Ingenix.
