Lynx inks Summa Health System deal

Emergency medicine documentation and revenue management system developer Lynx Medical Systems said that it has signed an agreement with Summa Health System of Akron, Ohio, to implement its E/Point facility charging software. E/Point will be implemented at Summa hospital emergency departments in Akron City, St. Thomas, and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, according to the Bellevue, Wash.-based Lynx.

The E/Point application is an emergency department outpatient facility charging system that employs a proprietary algorithm, which produces a visit level distribution that reflects patient acuity mix and resource utilization in the emergency department, Lynx said.

E/Point automatically calculates the visit level for compliant evaluation and management (E/M) charge assignment; once completed, charges are extracted to the hospital financial system.
