MEDHOST chooses Boston WorkStation for ED, HIS data synch

MEDHOST, a provider of Emergency Department Information System (ED), will implement the Boston WorkStation technology from Boston Software Systems, a workflow automation technology provider.

The Addison, Texas-based MEDHOST said the workstation will be implemented in situations where customers are unable to support or withstand HL7 standards. Boston WorkStation will support MEDHOST by enabling dictionary synchronization and advanced clinical content integration in these particular customer sites to ensure the free flow of critical patient information into the HIS.

Boston WorkStation allows hospitals to automate repetitive, time-intensive tasks, such as direct data entry, report generation and printing, or data updates. The partnership between MEDHOST and Boston Software Systems will allow patient data, such as home medications, allergies or any clinical information captured in the ED to flow easily throughout a patient’s continuum of care, according to the Sherborn, Mass.-based Boston Software.
