Medical Association gets better medicine, efficiency through Misys EMR

Deer Lake Medical Association (DLMA), a physician practice with five locations in Pennsylvania, installed an EMR from Misys Healthcare Systems in 2003. Since that time, the organization has reduced:
  • Adverse drug events by 34 percent;
  • Drug utilization by 15 percent;
  • Laboratory utilization by 8.8 percent;
  • Radiology utilization by 14 percent; and
  • Billing errors by 78 percent
It also saved the practice more than $34,000 in the first year.
