Multi-million dollar CR contract for Kodak
Eastman Kodak Co. has received a contract from Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio, Texas, for the company's digital CR systems.
The multi-million dollar order asks for 25 Kodak DirectView CR 850 and CR 950 systems and five Kodak DirectView CR long-length imaging systems. The systems will be dispersed throughout five hospitals and several hospital-affiliated imaging centers in the San Antonio region.
The healthcare system conducted a two-month trial of three vendors' systems prior to selecting the Rochester, N.Y.-based company. It is one of the largest single purchases of CR equipment from Kodak's Health Imaging Group.
In addition, the healthcare provider opted to include the DirectView EVP software and DirectView total quality tool software in the purchase. Available with Kodak's CR systems, the EVP software is used to enhance image quality by presenting both high-contrast and wide latitude data on the same image. The total quality software tool enables users to perform objective image tests and quality control measurements with the same interface used for examinations.
