Nashville hospital operator selects athenahealth

Community Health Systems (CHS), an operator of general acute-care hospitals, has adopted athenahealth's centrally hosted, practice management and billing service, athenaCollector, for its physician organization of more than 300 medical providers.

CHS of Nashville, Tenn., currently owns or operates more than 125 hospitals in 28 states, and has also formally endorsed athenahealth as its preferred practice management and billing service for its national physician organization consisting of more than 2,000 medical providers.

Along with CHS's corporate physician organization, 13 additional CHS locations have or are in the process of deploying athenahealth's practice management and billing services to their physicians.
