Nevada HIE signs Axolotl

HealthInsight, a nonprofit Nevada organization, has selected Axolotl to build its community-based HIE infrastructure.

The Nevada HIE will enable physicians to automatically update, receive and share patient information in real time to support care and treatment decisions for patients at the point of care, San Jose, Calif.-based Axolotl stated.

Axolotl technology will enable providers to access clinical information, including laboratory results, radiology reports and referrals, and to electronically submit and renew prescriptions from their EHR system.

Authorized and participating physicians across Nevada will also be provided with access to the Axolotl Virtual Health Record (VHR), which retrieves and displays all available patient data from across the entire continuum of care.

Early adopters in HealthInsight HIE include primary care providers, specialty physician groups and 11 hospitals throughout Nevada. Plans include expanding the HIE to additional providers and to rural parts of the state, Axolotl added.
