N.Y. hospital selects Allscripts

Westchester Medical Center has selected the Canopy care management system from Allscripts, a provider of clinical software, connectivity and information services, to help manage and coordinate care for its patients.

The Vallhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester, a 635-bed medical center and academic teaching facility of New York Medical College, is a Level III trauma center that serves more than 3.5 million people in the Hudson Valley region. Westchester also houses the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a kidney transplant program and a liver transplant program.

After the deployment, Westchester's facilities will use Canopy to streamline their care management workflow, manage insurance claims, and monitor each patient's length of stay and health status, according to Allscripts of Chicago.
