NYU installs Siemens Flash CT

The New York University (NYU) Langone Medical Center has deployed the Siemens Healthcare SomatomDefinition Flash CT scanner at its Manhattan facility.

According to Malvern, Pa.-based Siemens, the CT scanner has the capability to turn off radiation as it comes close to sensitive tissue areas, such as the thyroid glands, breasts or lens of the eye and eliminates the need for a baseline scan prior to an iodine injection.
